The mission of the ERCOT Summer Internship Program is to partner with students pursuing academic excellence to create opportunities that stretch learning experiences into a work environment with intellectually challenging projects and assignments. These opportunities will promote utility industry awareness, growth, and identification of top talent for future employment. The summer internship will be 40 hours a week during the summer.

Summary of responsibilities of the Intern:

  • Supports the analysis, development and implementation of highest priority intern assignments
  • Supports the analysis on project conditions, business compliance matters as well as effectiveness of strategies and programs to support business objectives
  • Coordinates compliance activities while maintaining the IT control framework as it relates to regulatory requirements, and internal and external audit activities
  • Maps the process for repeat-ability and consistency
  • Analyzes relevant data

Project Deliverable:

  • Evaluation, analysis, delivery and process support for high priority intern assignments

Desired Educational Level:

  • Bachelors, Masters, or PhD in Operations Research, Computer Science, Library Science, or MIS - GPA: 3. 0 or higher

Preferred Experience:

  • Relevant industry experience in software development lifecyle

Preferred work schedule of the intern:

  • 40 hours a week / Monday Friday 8AM - 5PM
  • Must be available to work onsite Interns will not be eligible for remote work.

Our summer internship program is a paid learning experience targeting primarily for students who have a GPA of 3. 0 or better and who have at least completed their sophomore year.

Graduate students are also highly encouraged to apply.

Don't Be Fooled

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
